When I was 16 weeks and 3 days along Dana was so nice and she did an ultrasound to see if we could tell whether we were having a girl or boy.... and as you all now we found out it was a GIRL :)

So at the end of March(around 28 weeks) we were told that Kaylee was kind of small so they wanted to keep a close eye on her to make sure she was properly growing, and they also sent me to a specialist.

At the beginning of April the specialist determined that she had Intrauterine Growth Retardation (IUGR) (I hate the way they word it). This just pretty much means she wasn't growing properly in the womb, she was only in the 6th percentile of growth for her age. They scheduled me to come back in 3 weeks to check her growth, when I went at the beginning of May they decided that she was growing pretty well but they ended up putting me on Bed rest for the rest of the pregnancy to ensure she had the most opportunity to grow as possible. Plus she also had the cord wrapped around her neck.
At my 38 week check up (Friday June 12th) I was 3 cm dilated, so because I was starting to dilate, the IUGR, and the cord around her neck they decided that I should go ahead in the next morning to be induced so they could closely monitor Kaylee throughout the labor.
So Saturday, June 13th at 7am I went into Sentara Williamsburg Hospital to be induced, Dr. Roberson checked me around 8am and I was 4 cm. They finally started the IV and gave me the Piton around 8:30. The labor officially started about 12:15pm, They had to keep a close eye on Kaylee because she was not taking labor as good as we hoped. I had to keep changing positions to keep Kaylee comfortable, her heart rate kept dropping, she liked the draping positions the best, I got on me knees and draped over the back of the bed then I stood up and leaned over a table and she did pretty good with that. Around 5:15pm I was 7 cm and the pain finally got unbearable so I got the epidural at about 5:30pm. They checked me again right after I got the epidural and I was 8 cm, within 20 minutes I was fully dilated and ready to push. After I pushed twice the nurse called the Dr. in because I was doing so good, I ended up pushing for about 35 minutes and then at 6:23pm Kaylee was born.

She was only 5 lbs 3.8 ozs. but 19 inches long (she is going to be tall, like her daddy).
She had Jaundice so they had to keep her on a Billy blanket at all times to help get rid of it. I was discharged on Monday the 15th, but she had to stay because of her Jaundice, I ended up staying in my room for free so I could stay with her since I was breastfeeding. Finally on Wednesday the 17th her Jaundice level was safe enough to discharge her so we finally got to bring our precious little girl home. I am surprised they let us bring her home though since she was under 5lbs... when discharged she was 4lbs 11 ozs.
It was the best diet I have ever been on... lol. I did not gain any weight and I am now 20 lbs less now then before I got pregnant.
On Thursday afternoon she decided she didn't want to fed hardly at all, then by that night her temp was low and she was sleeping more than usual and was not responding to any kind of interaction. So Justin called the Dr.'s office and 45 minutes later they told us to take her to the ER. My parents, my sister Sami and Justin's parents all came with us. My dad and sister fell asleep in the waiting room. They ended up putting an IV in her to give her fluids, they took some blood for testing and wrapped her up in warm blankets to keep her warm. After everything they did they said she was fine just take her home and keep an eye on her. We left the hospital at about 3am on Friday, so of course we didn't get home until 4am... UGH what a night.

This past Monday (June 29th) we took her for her 2 week check up and she is now 5 lbs 1.6 ozs and 19 1/4 inches long, now in the 10th percentile for growth, the Dr. said she is doing great :)

We have some many clothes for her, but since she is so small we have had to go out and buy all preemie clothes for her and some of them are even too baggy. The sleepers with the feet she can not wear because she is too long for them.
We are so blessed to finally have a beautiful baby girl in our lives.
