Catch up time

I've been a little lazy on keeping up my blog, so now is the time to catch up. Other than the Halloween blog I haven't posted since Kaylee's 4 Month Check up and a lot has happened since then.

First off, we started Kaylee on Cereal on October 17th, she has done very well with it, but I don't think she is quite ready to be eating it from a spoon. So I have been mixing it in with her morning and bed time bottles. After just a week of her eating it I could definitely tell she was gaining some weight.

She is smiling and giggling more and more by each passing day! She LOVES to watch Dora and Diego already... lol! She is trying to scoot around but she can't get her arms to do any work, she is steadily pushing around on her legs, once she can get her arms going she will be crawling all of the place.

(Playing at Grandma's House)

We started her on squash on November 1st and she did good with it :) She seemed to like it, but she only had a few days of it because she got sick and we haven't given her any since then( doctor's orders).

Tuesday November 3rd she woke up VERY cranky and fussy which is so unlike her! She finally calmed down and Justin took her to the sitter's house for the day. When I picked her up after work Jen told me that she had been fussy and that she slept more than usual and she felt a little warm. I took her temp when I got home and she had a 102.3 fever and she also had diarrhea. So I called the After hours Nurses for her Doctors Office. They advised me to give her Tylenol and call the doctor in the morning to see if he wanted to see her. When she woke up the next morning her temp was 100 right out of bed so I called the doctors office and they wanted her to come in. He did a Flu test but it came back negative and he checked her gums to see if it was possibly just teething, but is wasn't. They found blood in her stool so they had to send it off for testing. Her temp went away the next day and other than the constant diarrhea she was doing better.

(After the nurse took my temp 99.9)

We finally got the test results on Saturday afternoon.... she had somehow got Salmonella Bacteria!?!?! We nor the Dr has any idea how she got it... could have been anything she touched and put in her mouth, it could have come from the dog, or even someone else who may of had it?!?!? But at her age antibiotics could make it worse or make her have it longer so she has to just pass it through her system until is is gone. They are going to test her stool once a week until we know for sure it is completely out of her system.

(I fell asleep while waiting for the Dr.)

She will be 5 months old on Friday and as of her Dr appt on Wednesday she now weighs 11lbs 10 ozs. So she has gained 1 lb in the last month!

Kaylee's First Halloween

We decided to dress Kaylee up as a pumpkin for her first Halloween since that is her nickname. We were very lucky to find and outfit that fit her. We had bought a 0-3 months outfit at the end of Sept. she was still wearing newborns at the time so we figured a month out she could wear it. Well after we tried it on her we found out it was too small, even then, so we took it back and got her a 3-6 month, which fit her. I tried it on her last Thursday night to come to find out it was now too short on her :( So Friday night the night before Halloween we took it back hoping we could find something else to fit her. Once we returned it, we went to the Halloween section to find they had 2 costumes left, one was a 0-3 month, and the other was a 6-9 month, so we tried it on her before we left and it fit her perfectly!!!! I couldn't believe they still had one in the store. But the good part about having to go back on Friday night was that we got it 30% off :)

We didn't take her trick or treating since she is only 4 1/2 months old and the temperature outside was in the high 70's so the costume would have been too hot to keep on her for too long. We just took her to a couple of houses so some friends and family could see her in her Pumpkin costume.

Rough Night

We had a really rough night last night. Kaylee started to run a fever from the shots, which I know is normal, but the doctor's office told us to call if her temp got to 102 or higher. When I took her temp around 7pm it was 102.1 so we called the doctors office and it took over an hour for them to call us back!!! When the after hours nurse called back she acted like we were worried for no reason, even though the Dr. told us to call. So we had to give her Tylenol before she went to bed. She woke up 3 times through the night, which is so not like her, so you know she wasn't feeling very well. She looked much better this morning and didn't seem to have a high temp anymore.

But on top of that, our little Jack Russel Buddy hurt himself yesterday, I went to let him in yesterday morning and his foot was bleeding and he was limping. He cleaned it up and it looked fine just a split toe nail. But he licked it all night, did not sleep a bit, so of course we didn't sleep either. Justin had to take him to the Vet's this morning because it was still bleeding and he was still limping on it. The Vet had to cut the toe nail off where he split it and bandage him up and put him on 2 different meds. Poor little guy :-(

Both of our little kids had a rough day yesterday followed by a rough night :-(

4 Month Check Up

At her 2 month check up on August 11th her measurements were:

Height 21 ½ inches 21% percentile of growth
Weight 7 lbs 13 oz 2% percentile of growth
Head 15 inches
She was wearing preemie clothes but they were starting to get snug on her.

And now at her 4 Month Check Up today her measurements were:

Height 23 1/2 inches 23% percentile of growth
Weight 10 lbs 9.2 ozs 3% percentile of growth
Head 15 ½ inches 12% percentile of growth

She had to get 2 shots and a oral vaccinaction, she was very fussy on the doctor's office but it was because she was so sleepy. She finally had fallen asleep but we had 2 wake her for her shots :-(

She screamed so loud when the nurse gave her the shots but got over it very quickly and started to fall back asleep.

We now get to start rice cereal :-) and in 2 weeks she will start yellow veggies and then 2 weeks later she can start green veggies
:-) YAY!!!!!!

She was now wearing 0-3 clothes. She is just such a petitie little girl. She is so well behaved we couldn't ask for anymore!!!

(Both Pictures were taken today after leaving the doctors office)

Teething Time???

I do believe Kaylee has starting teething already. She has been drooling a lot for the past month but for the last week or so she has started chewing on everything!!! Yesterday and still today she is running a high temp. because of it. I have given her tylenol to help the temp she is doing very well so far, she has still been sleeping through the night with no problems. I just can not seem to wrap my brain around the fact that she is already old enough for teething. She will be 4 months on Tuesday which is the same day we go for her 4 Month Check up at which point we will probably be starting her on cereal :)

Sami's 21st Birthday

My little sister Sami just turned 21 on October 6th. It is so hard to believe she is 21!!!! I went out with her and her friends to Cheddar's for dinner. She drank way too many fruity drinks so of course she got sick... lol. She had 2 strawberry daiquiris, a strawberry coloda, a sex on the beach, and after I left they bought her a lemon drop... blah.
I am so excited we are all going out to celebrate her birthday on Saturday the 10th. We are going to Saddle Ridge. It is going to be so much fun I haven't been there since before I got pregnant. Anyone who wants to come out with us, you are welcome to come the more the merrier :)

My Birthday

My 25th Birthday was yesterday (Sunday, Sept. 27th) we did a cook out with some family and friends. It was a long stressful day, there is way too much to do when you throw a party especially when you have a baby to take care of at the same time. But after everything was done I had a great time, and I hope everyone else did too.

I just wanted to Thank Everyone for coming and making my birthday a great one! And Thank you to all of the Birthday Wishes!

All of you mean the world to us!

Lonely

I am having a not so good day today, I miss my husband so much!!! Since he got laid off in Feb. 2008 things just have never been the same. It is so hard to find a good job! Right now he is working at Lowe's at nights during the week and days during the weekends, plus he owns his own Lawn Service so he also runs around doing that. We are on compeletly opposite schedules, so we never see each other anymore. Which also means he doesn't get very much time with Kaylee.
It really makes me sad, I know some people are thinking that I am lucky because they like to have time away from their significant other, but we aren't like that. We both want to spend as much time together as possible. We have always been like that, so it makes it really hard for us to be apart. I miss him so much!!! I can not wait for everything to get back to the way they used to be, well kind of like they used to be but with Kaylee too.

3 Months

Kaylee is now 3 months old, she is growing up so fast!!! The time is just flying by, we love every minute we have with her, we are so blessed to be her parents. She is such a good girl, we love her so much and we couldn't ask for anything more.

On another note, I had a long weekend :( Saturday morning when I was trimming Kaylee's fingernails I had one more nail to trim and she jumped when I cut and I ending up cutting her little finger. I felt so bad, she cried for about a minute but then got over it. but it took me a long time to get it to stop bleeding I almost had to take her to the ER. after about 20 minutes it finally stopped. The problem was she likes the ball her fist up so it was like she was forcing more blood to come out. I called the doc and they said just to watch it but she would be fine.

Well this morning I noticed her whole finger looked swollen so I called the doc again. I had to take her to Urgent Care. After 2 hours in there they prescribed some antibiotics just in case but it wasn't infected.

(This is 5 minutes after I cut her finger, I was still trying to get it to stop bleeding)

Kaylee's 2 Month Check-up

Just an update on Kaylee’s growth.

At her 2 week check up on June 29th her measurements were:

Height 19 ¼ inches 10% percentile of growth
Weight 5 lbs 1.6 ozs 0% percentile of growth
Head 12 ½ inches

She was wearing preemie clothes and they still swamped her.

At her 2 month check up on August 11th her measurements were:

Height 21 ½ inches 21% percentile of growth
Weight 7 lbs 13 oz 2% percentile of growth
Head 15 inches

She was wearing preemie clothes but they were starting to get snug on her.

And Now at Almost 3 months old (10 weeks) she is finally wearing newborn clothes… lol. She is just so tiny.

She is growing more of a personality every day, she now watches things move around the room. She recognizes voices and turns to them. She loves smiling at everyone, she is trying so hard to hold her head up she is almost there she is still wobbly, but it won’t be too much longer. She has been sleeping through the night for about 3 weeks now. She is such a good girl :)

Her 4 Month Check-up is just around the corner (October 13th) and I just can’t believe it!!!
